🗺️ 8-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to Bucharest

Your guide welcomes you at the airport and transfers you to your hotel. Enjoy a private tour of Bucharest with a short introduction to the legend of Dracula. Discover who Vlad the Impaler was and his connection to Romania's capital. In the evening, explore the animated pubs and restaurants of the Old Town.

  1. Bucharest City Tour

Day 2

Târgoviște → Bran Castle → Brașov

Visit the Royal Court of Vlad the Impaler in Târgoviște. See the Chindiei Tower, once used as a prison during Vlad's reign. Then cross into Transylvania and visit Bran Castle — the medieval fortress perched on a steep rock that inspired Bram Stoker's novel. End the day with a tour of medieval Brașov's narrow streets.

  1. Târgoviște Royal Court

  2. Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle)

  3. Brașov Old Town

Day 3

Sighișoara — Birthplace of Vlad the Impaler

A day of fairytales in Sighișoara — not only the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler but also a stunning medieval citadel. Visit the house where Vlad Dracul (the Dragon), Vlad's father, lived and where his son was reportedly born. Explore the colorful streets and romantic atmosphere of this UNESCO site.

  1. Sighișoara — Birthplace of Vlad

Day 4

Borgo Pass — Where Stoker Placed Dracula's Castle

Step into Bram Stoker's story. The Borgo Pass is where the author placed Dracula's castle in an enchanting, wild landscape near Bistrița. Explore this wild corner of nature, relax by Colibița Lake, and recharge with pure mountain energy. Spend the night in Bistrița — you can choose the Golden Krone Hotel, inspired by Stoker's novel where Jonathan Harker spent his last night before meeting the vampire.

  1. Borgo Pass & Colibița Lake

Day 5

Discover Cluj-Napoca

Enter the modern world with a visit to Cluj-Napoca, one of Romania's most vibrant cities. When Jonathan Harker came to visit Count Dracula, he spent his first night here. Today the city looks completely different, but you can still admire old buildings and cobbled streets while tasting a "paprikás csirke" — the traditional recipe Harker enjoyed — in one of the many restaurants.

  1. Cluj-Napoca

Day 6

Corvin Castle → Sibiu

Back in the footsteps of Vlad the Impaler — visit Corvin Castle, one of Europe's most beautiful medieval castles, where Vlad was locked in prison. In the afternoon, arrive in Sibiu for a guided tour of this medieval gem. End the day relaxing in one of the cafés in the Big Square.

  1. Corvin Castle

  2. Sibiu Guided Tour

Day 7

Poenari Fortress → Bucharest

Head back to Bucharest, but not before admiring the ruins of Poenari Fortress — the real castle of Vlad the Impaler, perched dramatically on a cliff above the Argeș River. Back in Bucharest, rest at your hotel or make a final visit to the Old Town.

  1. Poenari Fortress
